not exactly passionate about surf casting alone, will wet a line wherever how ever, even the goldfish are getting line shy.
Plenty of action off our beaches at mo, and will get better from mid feb through to mid april.

Curious about that reel in first pic, is that a specialty caster type? @rambo rem700

Try 90 mile classic comp, If you can catch'em of Manawatu coast, you'll slay it up north.

Thats awesome. Some good feeds there.

Question? Do you think surf casting has got better over the past few years or worse?

Talking more about fish stocks close to shore I guess.

    hello ,
which beach do you vist to catch these fine fish.
I am also in the manawatu and am into surf casting but havnt been out for awhile.
I am looking to try tangi and possibly foxton but not the river mouth as its always super crowded.

My memories of the Manawatu and Rangatikei beaches are paddle crabs, paddle crabs and more freakin paddle crabs.
The place was plagued with them or I was a paddle crab magnet or something.

Those are some bloody nice fish for off the sand around these parts
Jusepy, you could try off the beach up Santof way, or Tangimoana. I've only caught Kahawai in the Foxton river mouth before. Have caught a few Snaps Santof before I became a "boatie"
