Planing strakes and outboard pod performance increases

Hi guys
I have an old senator 5.75m(1998) that I am working on as a project
It may have a problem with not enough bow lift and sitting too deep in the water
I am planning on putting a hard top on it which is going to exacerbate the current issue

I am planning to over come this by using planing strakes and by putting the outboard on a pod (as it is bolted to the transom at the moment

is there anyone out there with knolege in this field regarding lift charicteristics of strakes and shape ect and how they should be spaced?

are reverse chines the go?

will putting the outboard on a pod give the motor more leverage to lift?

Has the outboard been set to the right height?
Heard of a case where someone bought a Mako that had a bag or 2 of cement in the bow for weight. Took the boat in for a service and they adjusted the height of the motor and threw the bag of cement out

yea he had tryed everything aparently including chocking the motor and soforth, it had a 140 suzuki fourstroke on it so not underpowered by any means
the problem seems to be the nose is too low rather than the opposite,

thats good, iv got plenty of cement if it comes to that. haha.

Have you confirmed the hull is straight? I have strakes on my Jetboat not sure if they work as I haven't tried without them. Apparently a major problem on jetboat at least is the hull is bent causing the nose to dig deeper than it should

I like them cause as well as what you have said they are really good for steppin on when getting back into the boat after a dive

aparently senator straighted the hull so I amagine yes it is, on looking at it it looks good
