I caught a few trout over the weekend with a repala CD5 (brown trout lookalike). Great lure, with a great action.
The issue I have is that the treble hooks are pretty tough on trout, especially wee ones. Anyone replaced the trebles with singles? My concern is maintaining the action of the lure.
Yep I do with a single hook that has a straight shank, rear hook facing upwards to prevent snags on the bottom etc. Google has a wide range of hook types and set ups you can try.
It will run fine with singles. Look for hooks with straight shank and eye to replace with.

I just cut the trebles off and leave the upward facing hook on @Gibo rapala has been trimmed.:)

Not a bad idea Dundee. Do some people just run the hook on the rear, and not use the "belly" hook at all?
I noted all five trout I landed in the weekend were hooked in the mouth by the rear hook (and then by the fin or gill plates by the other bugger).
