Southern surf casting
Hey all
Just after some nudges in the right direction.
Allow me; my wife is a big fan of Elephant fish and most saltwater species and as I've only been saltwater fishing once in the last 6years it's fair to say I'm a bit rusty.
Although as the other week showed I haven't forgotten how to catch em!
Anyway pertaining to surfcasting in the Deep South what is one likely to catch and also off the rocks etc and what techniques work better etc. I haven't got a surfcaster yet and won't till after duckshooting(thinking a bait runner).
As if I wasn't busy enough with hunting, fly fishing, work and dog training I want to earn some extra brownie points( then I can build a 284 later on in the year)!
Tight lines and hot barrels

I have never caught one on a line myself but this may be of help.

they get eleys off coast by waimate...bit far to travel. you should get on to blue cod easy enough and you shouldnt need huge rod to get line out far enough to do the trick especially if you in remote/seldom used spot.
