    SQUID??!!

Any ideas how to or where/ when.

My sitiation is I can fish shallow bays to open / blue water 100 -120 ft, I've seen the odd one freediving but am looking (well me and the old man ) are looking for a feed of em,

So I gather you hang a light and lumo lures under it , thats about as far as I know so if anyone had some advice on depth, water temp, lure colour , time of night / day / year etc would be appreciated. Very much a novice in regards to this species.

I know they ink like a barstard when you shove a spare through em and are bloody tastey when cooked correctly. So even cooking tips would be great.

    Cheers Joe.

Talleys, comes in a big box, if you catch no fish you can always eat the bait

I have luck around rock structures or in small shallow bays at night. I use the lumo shrimp type lures on my softbait set up and just twitch it like a shrimp twitches.

I hate the idea of paying for fish, and i've seen the state of fish at shops... I prefer mine fresh fresh! not 3 days or older fresh.

You are paying for 'bait" that you can just happen to eat!!

Stingray.Having seen the size of the squid that Mikee is talking about, I would agree you are better off buying it.
I reckon it take you a week to catch enough of the small inshore ones to be equal to one of Mikee's bait.

bugger and blast! Was seeing myself slaying a feed of fresh tasty squid, even splashed out on 20 bucker of jigs.... Best informed now rather than sitting in the blue water at midnight spotlighting the water Looking like the village idiot. Thanks guys I will invest my time chasing non existent tuna instead.... Spent even more $$$$ on bloody lures for those bloody things.....

Gaaaaaa this is why I freedive at least I can see the bloody fish!! See em ,shoot em :cool eat em

I would have gladly loaned you as many Tuna lures as you wanted, I never seem to get the chance to use them very much
