Keep an eye out for guys in super-fast jet boats ;).... Kahawai at xmas time at the river mouth, on odd occasions salmon enter the estuary over summer, and there is a (very) small run of small salmon that enters the taieri in autumn they tried to improve the run by seeding gravel runs in the upper river with eye'd ova a few years back but it didn't seem to come to much. There are some big perch in the area between the henly bridge and the start of the gorge but they are not common.
