White bait west coast vrs east coast ??

I just smashed a pound and a half of fresh caught east coast bait , and I've got to say man it was good . I may be going out on a limb here but it was way tastier than the west coast bait I've been eating over the last few weeks .
    What's every ones preference ? .

That because of all the fert and chemicals in your east coast rivers Munsey Na.

My favorite bait is the Arawhata run bait. (inunga) Hard to catch but to me, is the tastiest. I reckon bait has a subtle taste of its own depending on what river it is from.

It must be the "1080 " that tastes different Dave!
Never tasted Arawhata bait so can't pass judgment , Is it big bait ? Like majority of west coast bait ?

Ha! Ha! Touche! You are probably right there.

It is big. The largest in fact. It freezes yellow and puts a lot of people off. I could hardly sell it so always kept it for family and friends. It will run around your net in the strongest current.

Not that i have ever caught Bugger all but i eat a fair bit.
Definitely can taste different from different rivers or maybe fishers?
Always tastes best fresh but i mostly get frozen.
I recon it can be to do with how they are running and how long from net to freezer.

One of the most overated things ive ever tried. Give me some cray cod or snapper anyday. I cant believe how much people try and sell bait for. Its ridiculous. Good to have a feed if you catch it nonetheless. But hey. thats just my personal opinion.

Over rated as. I like catching them eating a bit at the start of the season and that is good for me.

Taste will probably change with how long they are in the river too. Also how clean the water is.
