Just trickling through here on the Waikato, getting between 250g to a kg a day. No big catches anywhere.
Nope not me…use to when I was a kid..was fun. Maybe I should have a go. It’s very yum.would make a change from snapper.
@veitnamcam and myself got out today, rain wind sun more rain , finally a bit of sun and calm and bugger me whitebait.
Then rain and wind and sun again and a few more shoals .
Got some, missed a few at the top of the as they spread out and were very jittery.
Fantastic company and tasty snags and bacon. A trying but successful day. Nice to be in the river surrounded by friendly folks stopping for a chat and share local knowledge.

1/2 a pound just enough to wet my appetite for more!
It's not happening for us yet. Just made 2kg for the season and out everyday, THERE is always hope.
Young bloke at work got 2 lb on the Motueka river yesterday . Big tides had the milky water way up the river
Still very slow on Waikato.
First day out today for the season, 2.25 KG

Wow that a fantastic effort!
Today was a perfect day good tide , still and clear and no bloody rain, got most of the first shoal thought things were looking up , then the smelt ( cucumber fish) ran and ran , couple of stragglers bait wise , between two of us we managed a small Pattie.
