    April Fools Piss Take

When it's not your coin you're spending ,but tax payers, who gives a monkeys.
The wisdom from Doc of siting a $2k dunny in the middle of a running Matagorie fan.
Or maybe I'm just too harsh and judgemental.

Anyone else got some 1/4/25 clangers from the dear DeptName: IMG20251114121047.jpg

No different to all the houses taken out by Gabrielle.
They shouldn't have been put there either.
Unfortunately it takes a bit of water to open some people's eyes.
    Overkill is still dead.

Looking at the age of the Matagouri in your first pic, I wouldn’t be too harsh on them, some of that growth has been there for a long time!

Recent weather events have been pretty exceptional around the regions.. still all the excess atmospheric moisture from the Tonga volcano finding its way back down. 5-10% increase in global atmospheric water vapour, depending who you listen to. Estimates of 5 years post-event before it all finds its way back down.. so another couple years yet.

Maybe I should have taken some other photos of the general environs to illustrate the complete ineptitude of the siting on the fan which carries water for most months of the year. There were ample stable sites only within 300 yards of the fan entirely suitable as a future proof dunny location.
This clanger of course follows their wisdom of building a cantileved viewing platform tied down with 6" nails in which no heads rolled after 14 lost their lives.
And the mindless waste of our money, when from on high it's decreed to fix an exit sign to the interior of every hut & Biv in Enzed to the only friggin entry/ egress door of that building.Really? how did we survive to this point. You do the maths on the $cost of flying in/installing those signs nationwide.Hopefully the Tuhoe arsonists read the sign on the way out the door

my pet one when I was with DOC was why did we have to have $400,000 architectural designed environmentally friendly huts- bloody idjits added $100,000 to the cost with consultants and architects - I am sure any decent carpenter could design and build a 30 bunker for $150,000 and thats with helicopter time - what is wrong with corrugated iron walls plywood lined - and a 6 bunk $50,000 and likely a damn good one - dunnys nothing wrong with a long drop - tip in a cup full of lime once a month sweet as - the ones they made us put in at lake Waikaremoana with tanks underneath ( pumped out onto tank on barge ) stunk badly

Baz,those $100k consultants still fk it up on those gin palaces they draw up. I am going to be involved next year in a $1/2 million contract to basically deconstruct an architecturally designed great walk hut on the Kepler. Its sweating like a rapist to the point where it's dissolving away.In round about terms a complete rebuild
The hut takes in $5k a week in fees for Doc's coffers. So to keep their revenue flow we are commencing 1 May for 4 months duration in the off season. The track will be closed as a result .The hut receives 1 hour of sun @ 2.30 pm on 1 May,and come the shortest day nil sun.The head lamp is gunna get a workout

The shiny bums that had the learned knowledge to site that dunny there have saved DOC heaps. It'll never need to be replaced because its full. Shit flows downhill is the first lesson bureaucrats learn.
