I got my NZUA Basic in 1980 and dived local and tropical (Fiji and Vanuatu) sites many times during the 80's and 90's. Then had a spell of not diving much, got into other things like competitive shooting. Got back into diving due to a new friendship in 2005 and advanced to Technical Diving, initially mixed gas OC then did an SCR course and bought a rebreather. Did a lot of very comfortable rebreather dives on wrecks and stuff in a very short time and then my buddy went commercial Sat and I drifted out of it again. Sold my rebreather but still have a couple of twin-sets and slings, nice dry-suit, all gathering dust

When I saw the heading "Doppler Divers" I thought it was about using doppler to listen to the off-gasing sounds in a divers bloodstream. A technique actually used in diving medicine...
10MRT shooters do it 60 times, in two directions and at two speeds.

Did my SSI Divecon years ago

Assisted on 1 class and said stuff that after a big student latched on to me (playing with his fancy reg and turned the air flow down) - not sure who's eyes were bigger!

Why worry about sharks, we are soooo noisy underwater bit hard to think we are food - free divers thats another thing (maybe) - I say its the one you don't see that gets you, if you can see them not too worry (unless you carrying the bag or fishing of course)

All of you fellas saying why worry about sharks are nuts, I reckon.
An old resident white may not be able too catch a feed as it gets older. It will have too take easy prey one day. Yes we are noisy under water but its when on the surface after a dive I reckon you will get smashed.
Come down for a dive and I will drop you crazy buggers in where she lives.
I bet there will be a lot of new lumps in the back of some wetsuits if she cruises into view.

Yeah Rushy, but it doesnt have to imagine him on a plate with tomato sauce, it just sees him as a giant sausage roll filled with tomato sauce
I will take Tim diving down there. He can dive splitbag reef. I will make sure I bring a bucket to empty his wetsuit into.
If I seen the fucker while desending or asending, the shit would be overflowing out of my hood. If it doesnt bother Tim, I know where some huge crays are

Tbh I would be a complete wanker to let anyone dive there when they were know to be about. They bugger off for a while but seem to always come back.

They are near the island and seen frequently just south at a reef I know as split bag.
The locals know when the are around but they tend to bullshit to scare people off.
Yep going to do it with Abe and Adam sometime next week if Adam gets out of the hospital on time.
You are more than welcome to join us. Doing a bit of LR steel as well I hope.
