Private land signs for across the river I think. You can walk along the fence line(true left of river)Thats what we did many yrs ago when we were young(50+) and fit.3hrs later at the old hut with a bit of stopping looking at deers.
Look on utube walking along the fence line.

I was in there Kings Birthday weekend.
Less than 2 hours walk to the hut (Spurs). Small block and pretty popular but a neat place. It's surrounded by private land so make sure you know where the boundaries are. The fire fills the hut with smoke.Name: P1000073.JPG

I went for a wander in there earlier this week to test the new knee.

As usual all animals spotted were on the easement side of the fence.

Watched a nanny and a yearling tahr for about 5 minutes in the riverbed, about 100m from the doc block. Was pretty cool to see, they weren't fussed by me at all.Name: 20240618_134710.jpg

None of the animals in there are very fussed by humans because they know where the boundaries are and they are always on the safe side.

The hut is pretty cramped and drafty, it is almost warmer in a tent! Stunning landscape though. Here's a picture from the walk in last summer.
