    Sleeping bag left in Tararuas

Just thought I would post this here. Anyone Left a sleeping bag in a hut in the Tararuas, go to Tramping new zealand facebook page and some guy has it and wants to reunite it with owner. Someone did say probably a hunter left it to return later, but to late its gone. So I am just putting it on here just in case its someones on here

I left a sleeping bag in the Tararuas about 50 years ago. In the head waters of the Mangahao. I had frozen all night in it - nothing worse than wet kapok - and had 2 whole hind quarters with back straps attached to carry out and sell. The Trapper Nelson (an old wooden frame pack) was chocka and I had a 4 hour walk out to Albert road. So I left that cold bitch of a sleeping bag behind and bought myself a flash new down Fairy Down Everest when I got home. My son has still got it.

Ha ha @Tahr. I had a similar experience which led to the purchase of an everest. Was really good but on the second fly camp of next trip I somehow managed to slide off a bank and woke up with my lower half in the creek. I slung that wet bag in a tree the next day but down doesnt seem to dry very fast so the next night was pretty miserable as well. Finally got the everest drycleaned and it was good for years afterward
