Hi team im only new here and like many others i guess my attention was drawn to this forum/ i heard about this forum through google search after google search of all the millions of questions i had as a new hand at shooting as a hobby rather than just a means of meat.
Ive noticed alot of scorn directed at newbies who are posting stuff for sale or wanting to buy. Everyone seems to think its because people are wanting to get something for nothing.
Maybe look at it a different way, i could be wrong but i for one have hopped on here after using google to find past posts that somewhat relate to my question for the last year. I enjoy the interactive knowledge shared and differing opinion/ reasoning behind them. But lets say i hadnt already sold my rifle set up and decided that my short bush rifle wasnt my buzz anymore and i wanted to get into long range stuff with the advice of you more experienced shooters. i would join the forum that best represented my interests and then possibly first up list my rifle for sale to free up funds to pursue my new interest.
No harm done just trying to immerse myself in a new world that i am quite excited about. Only to find out that that isnt the done thing and i just didnt know about it, next thing there is 10 people hating on me with their wires completely crossed.
I don't see that being very welcoming for new people to the world of hunting and shooting.
Just an example from what i have observed on multiple occasions now. I sold my rifle to a friend and am currently trying to source the bits together to start stretching the legs a bit, so i can relate to where the others are coming from.
Perhaps in the sticky note about buying as selling there should be some rules regards a length of time or minimum amount of posts before you list something for sale.
Please dont turn on me for this, just an observation from the side lines
