Do you use low phosphate \ phosphate free washing powder on your hunting clothes to cut down on UV reflection? Do you think it makes that much difference to the hunt when its all said and done?

I personally think it would make more difference than Camo/no camo
yep. I use an ECO wash, as I found my stoney creek trousers were getting lighter. The phosphates were bleaching them.
Plus it supposedly stops the UV thing with animals vision.
Any phosphate free Eco/earth friendly wash should do.
Good question. I dump mine in laundry sink, a couple days later it ends up clean and folded in my hunting drawers. Dunno what it's washed in but the last deer didn't see me!

good question, I have always wondered this but never asked...
thanks.
I use 'Pure laundry soap' its a bar and you use an old cheese grater to put a bit in the machine then 1/4 cup Baking soda. Good job no UV and much cheaper than Sportwash
I use Sportwash, but I think the Mrs has used it back-to-front, 'cos it seems to have stopped me seeing the deer.
Seriously though, it probably helps, but by the time the deer has worked out what the glowing thing pointing a stick is - it's too late.
Never use standard washing powders on gore-tex etc, it's very abrasive. Use dish washing liquid, just squirt a bit in the machine, It's cost effective & works mint.
if you are worried about the UV Brighteners in your washing powder just send them back through another cycle WITHOUT adding powder..thats at least 2 more lots of water to rinse it out.
Add baking powder.
