And no he's not dead. The fat bastard is asleep in the sun. It's his first birthday today.

Nice one. A good investment there. Looks just about perfect spitroast size.

Wash your mouth out with the most disgusting substance you can think of.
Basil is part of the family. No way will he end up on a spit.

A heart attack is probably the only thing that will prevent him making it. Although he does do a bit of exercise. He runs around the farm with my dogs. He prefers to ride on the bike but is to big to get up now.

What do you feed him? I know a couple of guys who go round all the fruit and vege and supermarkets etc for all the food they can't legally sell. Costs them nothing or very little

Maybe you could train him to be a deer detector? They're said to be more intelligent than dogs. Definitely smarter than our politicians.

@7mmwsm Seen a few of those up behind your neighbor's place across the road a few months ago - they were as surprised as I was.

Mostly just feed him house scraps and a few pig pellets. We have a few Walnut and Oak trees around and he hoovers up those when ever we are passing them. You need a few pigs to make picking up scrapes from supermarkets etc worth while. And it's a bit cut throat amount pig owners apparently. I've heard of pig food getting poisoned by rivals.
I taught him to sit and wait for his food, but I think teaching him to point deer would be a big ask. He is really only interested in keeping his guts full.
He lived in a plywood box in the dining room until he was about a month old. Hardly ever pissed or crapped in the box. He had a definite different squeal when he wanted to go out for a piss or crap. The down side to that is, if the door gets left open now he bowls on inside and makes himself at home. He gets removed pretty quickly though.
I was hoping he would buddy up with a pet hind I have but she hates him and hammers him when ever he goes near her.

He sounds like a happy pig.

That is interesting. The things people do.

I found it interesting, I noticed that cows would chase pigs away when they were in the paddocks. So all one would have to do was watch the cows and you'd usually find a pig sooner rather than later.
