The punishment is a joke, the bit about he couldn't afford the fine because he had a lot of outstanding fines shows he should have got a harsh sentence as he is no stranger to breaking the law.

I suppose a hunter who accidentally climbs over the wrong fence but has worked hard all his life with no previous fines would get the book thrown at him and fined the earth. Not a good outcome

He's driving with a suspended drivers license, so they suspend his drivers license for another 6 months. Because that's obviously a very effective penalty.

Put him in stocks for a week with a free supply of rotten veges from the local supermarket.

I would have thought using a firearm without a license should incur something harsher

What gets me is there is no mention of his mate that was APPARENTLY “” there to take photos””
Is that not aiding and abetting?
When are they going to throw the book at these guys that use firearms without a license.
Here we are going to all the effort and cost to be law abiding. When they get away with that?
    Complete joke.
Where’s that article from the other thread about law breakers and the few that are doing it with guns impacting the many that are law abiding.
Makes me sick, and then to add to it you have Saggy and that police union twit etc etc jumping all over us with death to Tahr and tax the gun owners
    Makes my blood simmer!

Oh well at least we know he will end up rapped in fish and chips and chucked in the bin at the end of the day. Some consolation I suppose.

One day, people will have had enough, and these people will just disappear. Not good, I reckon it already happens to some degree. The courts have to realise that they have to hold up their end of the bargain, otherwise they get left out of it. Sadly I don't think they understand this.

Why is it poaching on private property where people could be shot does not carry the same sentence as poaching sea food? I thought poaching is poaching regardless of species
