OSX devices are all very user friendly but in my opinion the premium one pays for Apple products really isn't worth it.

they're awesome , I've had one for a couple of years ... but recommend getting one with a Solid State Drive if possible (not the cheapest option)

SSD will mean fast boot times and better overall performance.

Otherwise with a normal HDD they are still a good piece of kit.

Definitely more expensive than your standard windows kit.

Yosemite is really slick. OSX comes with heaps of add ins too that you would normally have to buy on a PC.

Oh and OSX Yosemite was $0 upgrade from Mavericks, which was I think $10 upgrade from Mountain Lion.

I got a 13" Retina SSD Macbook Pro for Uni and personally I like it better than the Air... a little more heft and slightly more significance... less likely to go flying or perhaps forget you have it with you... but still nice and handy and fits into bags easily etc...
