Anyone ever done it? - have heard but never seen it.
if so what was the result?
Wanting to do screen and maybe topside on the wee boat but can't be arsed with spraying it as don't have anywhere to do it and I'm not a master spray painter

Yeah you use a short-pile roller (surface is only about 3mm) but you "lay it off" with a brush afterwards, that is, you get the paint on with the roller and then smooth the surface down with soft brushstrokes. Mini-rollers are good for this. Also 2 thin layers are better than 1 thick as that shit will dribble like an autistic teenager masturbating

Get good quality mohair roller sleeve and ease whatever paint you are you down to aid flow. Alternatively, use an additive. Flowtrol for waterbased (acrylic) Penetrol for oil based.

My repertoire of similes has either substantially increased, or plummeted to the depths of ... whatever. I can't decide which. But the imagery is disturbing.

I'm sure it will be fine .
Maybe after you done that you could whip up some new kitchen joinery with the chainsaw and change a couple of light bulbs with a claw hammer

One minor point - does it need some etch primer so that the topcoat won't fall off? Just wondering.

If you don't know try fingerpainting a sample then let it dry and try scratching it off with a fingernail - I've not done much painting of Ali. Also etch primer stinks and it's not a good high

Good point 308. Dulux do a bloody good quick drying etch primer that is good on roofs so should be ok for your purposes Spanners. Think it is called RFU. Recoat in 15 mins
