Anyone got more brains than DOC and their employees?

Only to be expected I guess-

Definitely a lesser quality of employee/person that hides behind a government job label-
(NB. there are a few responsible people in govt employ-was one for several years too-not DOC.)

no answer in the last couple of weeks.

Their marketing bullshit- to be rude- goes only a small part of the way to clarifying the questions.

    Anyone here can answer it??

    copy of email follows--

    ----------------------------------------

Hi, am looking at residing at a property- that has

a DOC administered area on a ridge adjacent to the property boundary.

    1-Acknowledge need for permit

    for hunting

    trapping-even for pest control.

    dog- unless a companion dog.

    2 my questions are-

a-considering approval given, and not revoked--how often with what time

notice do I have to renew the permit/s.

b-Can I separate the area under application into different blocks - or

is a general application for the whole of the listed area.

c-Is a companion dog just not a working or hunting dog?

d-Do I need a permit to hand catch and remove wild goats/pigs/deer/etc-

    should there be any?

e-Does the permit allow for exclusive use of the defined area for a

definite period of time? or are numbers of permits issued for the exact

    same geographic area?

    --------------------------------------------------------------

-don't laugh too much at the hand catch thing- is real easy to corner the juveniles with or without a dog, and catch without the adults about.

Sorry but I don't get it?
If that email landed in my inbox it would probably go straight to the bin unless I'm missing something.
What are you asking? Exclusive hunting rights to public land?

ring them up and talk to them about it. I would assume that if its designated hunting block/they issue permits to hunt there than youd have to get one too.

or is what you want to have all access blocked off to said location

    Thanks-
or is what you want to have all access blocked off to said location
No-of course that would be unfair.

a=looks like that- was more interested in complying of rules of hunting or not on gazetted land.

b= 100 hectare block- so don't need or want to go all over it.

c=determination of legal classification-so if you take your dog with you for a walk(complete with your kiwi aversion cert, dog reg etc)- and have no evidence of hunting with you- local busybody's complaints are held to be of no value.

d=determination of legal classification of the word=saves trouble

e= simple question relating to their rules.

Probably should word it better and make it an Official Information request to them, for what its worth.

side note- poor quality employees are everywhere, not only in government sponsored agencies.

Why an OIA request? Sounds like an over reaction.
As said, just pick up the ‘phone and talk to DOC.

I like your posts. They remind me of the old wedding telegrams.

a=looks like that- was more interested in complying of rules of hunting or not on gazetted land. Have you never obtained a hunting permit before? Very easy and can be done online. Most are for concervancies, not blocks

b= 100 hectare block- so don't need or want to go all over it. DOC don't have the resources to care about your specific requirement. See above

c=determination of legal classification-so if you take your dog with you for a walk(complete with your kiwi aversion cert, dog reg etc)- and have no evidence of hunting with you- local busybody's complaints are held to be of no value. If Mr Bow Wow wants to goes walkies with you in a permitted dog area then technically its a no. Your Dog permit is for hunting, not quality time.

d=determination of legal classification of the word=saves trouble. You've never had a hunting permit before have you?

e= simple question relating to their rules. No, this is public land, not a bottle of single malt with the gamekeeper type agreement. Some areas are balloted.

Probably should word it better and make it an Official Information request to them, for what its worth. Probably should just look at the website really.

side note- poor quality employees are everywhere, not only in government sponsored agencies.
Most of this is in between the marketing bullshit on the DOC website. You're asking for definitive answers from vague questions then implying an entire department is incompetent?

Nah. Have a look back at Reliable’s other posts. All in the same vein.
