    Attn all parents!

If you havnt done it already, PLEASE SECURE DRAWERS ETC TO THE WALL.

Tonight just after bed time, while I was preparing some dinner I hear a hell of a crash.

I run down the hall and check the first room I come to, my 3 year old daughters room.

I enter to find a hell of a mess, a large set of drawers completely tipped over, drawers all out and shit everywhere with my little girl underneath of it all. Fuck!

I lift it off her, its heavy. I quicky remove the drawers and stuff off of her, she is laying face down, im fucking shitting myself.

By this stage my wife makes it to the room, and we start assessing the situation. Lucy was beside herself, and wouldnt/couldnt stand and was indicating she had pain on her hip pelvis.

Decided we had to take her to A&E to get checked out. Turns out we were very lucky and she only has a few bumps and bruises and got one hell of a fright, as did my wife and I.

    Bloody lucky!

My wife said a while back that we should secure the drawers in the kids rooms to the walls. We live in a nice house and me being an anal twat didnt want to put holes in the walls, what a dickhead.

Who cares about a couple of small holes in the walls when we are talking the safety and lives of our kids!

This has really shaken me up. We were lucky this time, might not be again..... guess what im doing tomorrow.

Yup, a hole in the wall is a lot better than our hole in my two little ones!

Yeah good point. Little bit hard when we are renting with a 'no holes' clause but hopefully will be in the new place shortly.

If you are securing to a gib board covered wall make sure you anchor to something solid behind the gib - don't trust a wall anchor.

With enough load you'll end up with a 150x150mm patch of gib board lying on the floor on top of your dresser unit...
