The only metric they are measuring their gun laws on is mass shootings. everything else must therefore be ok.

By that logic then virtually every law in this country is a waste of time, because they don't stop every single crime.

Such strawman arguments are ridiculous and shows a level of ignorance or intellectual dishonesty.

How many did they have before the law change and we shouldn't count their attempts to eliminate the Aboriginals during colonisation ? ( only remember the Port Arthur one) and how many afterwards ? (I do remember the Melbourne coffee shop and it was shooting orientated one, but a potentially different motive)

I'd be interested in how many were handed in during the current amnesty that had "arrived" post the original amnesty....that might be a good measure of how porous the border is....

Saw on an Aussie hunting forum that about 30,000 were handed in nationwide.

There were reports that most of that 30,000 was firearm parts and old clunkers that were hardly suitable as tomato stakes. We will never know the truth I guess, but my bet is that the gangs and crims were not exactly lining up in an orderly manner to hand in all the Glocks and AK's that the sheeple will be led to believe make up the 30,000 " firearms".
