Heard and saw that buzz over Wellington today.

The first fighter I sat in was an F-14 Tomcat. Back in the glory days of the ATC.

I have had a flight in one or a Provost it was awesome low level best funfair ride ever and the sensation of speed 10" of the ground was amazing we had to climb up over some buildings.

After the flight about 30 minutes when I got out I felt like my face was rearranged and a feeling of being pulled about and legs were a bit wobbly hard to explain.

Also had a seat in an F4 Phantom unfortunately only on the ground and played with its cannon and ammo I think it was in the process of being loaded, made a 50 cal look like a 5.56.

I went over and had a play with a Buccaneer asked the RAF type who appeared if it was a Spitfire he said almost as old had a poke around the LTD pod.

Still smile thinking about the F16 climbing up towards me on a ridge line if you waved your arms they wave their wings and blast over like you could reach up and touch them.

I still remember as a kid in the 60's standing at the end of the runway and the Lightnings coming towards you just off the ground would stand on their tail and go vertical afterburners glowing the ground shaking and the smell of avgas.

An other grand sight was the Vulcan, Jaguar or Tornado screaming up a valley when your on the hills above.

Great times something like this, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zhAekECH78

    Amazing machines.

I saw a jet at Whakamaru last friday.
It was heading north up the river.
From memory this used to be the flight path the airforce used but last one I have seen was an orion and that was years ago.
But question for you guys in the know how many jets are in private hands in NZ?
And what would it have been snub nose stubby wings.
