The best Rock and Roll band

We should debate interesting stuff on this forum, such as who is the best Rock and Roll band in the world.
There should be no second bests, just the bests.

    It's really easy
I was born in 1962, the best rock and roll band in the world first came to real notice in 1964, from 1964 until the album after Tattoo You the Rolling Stones were unequivocally the best Rock and Roll band ever.

However in 1979 an Australian band called AC Dc came to prominence, after a couple of weak albums they came out in 1979ish with Highway To Hell, and continued to be the best rock and Roll band in the world until the late 90's and beyond.

However in the late 80s and early 90's an American band [no not Grand Funk Railroad for those that know ] came to being, The Black Crows were the best Rock and Roll band in the world [off and on] until 2005

During that time another band, The Red Hot chili Peppers tried to be just that but after a couple of very good attempts they faded.

So, the unescapable conclusion to my thesis is....
There has never been a decent Rock and Roll band in the whole world since 2005, bands have completely gone to shite since then and the best, longest lived, Rock and Roll band in the world is unquestionably, without a doubt, proven world wide.

    The Rolling Stones.

    PS
Your views may differ, but I doubt it.

You have different genres mixed in there.

ACDC is/was a great band. But they're considered hard rock/metal?
Love them but. Agus young would have to be the best rock guitarist ever
Stones and beatles would be arguably the best rock n roll bands of all time and imo not many have formed beyond the 60s
Most of the music today is shit I agree. Too techno and a lack of raw talent. Again just my opinion. There are many talented individuals but not much band wise.
Bands that write and play their own music these days are rare.

Best for me to show up in the last 10 yrs is Mumford and Sons.
More of a folk rock band but packed with talent.
    Guns and Roses were talented.
Axl Rose in his prime had an unreal voice. Slash was a mean lead guitar.
What would you call Pink Floyd?
    Generational talent there.

Not the same for me without Gilmour.

I have very fond memories of the mid 80s Pink Floyd tour.
They're a bit broken but good

    No I haven't R93
AC DC have always promoted themselves as a Rock and Roll band, it is others that have decided they are not,... sometimes.

Listen to the Black Crows, if you don't know any of their songs google them doing "Whole Lotta love' that will give you an idea.

I cant stand rock and roll, especially AC/DC… (waiting for the slagging) if it’s a statistic thing then surely The rolling stones has to be the best if not top 3? But I must say I do like Pink Floyd.
Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

I know exactly who the Black Crows are. I'm a big fan.

Also a fan of many Ozzie bands. Seen all live in NZ or Oz.
