Anyone told them that Astrolabe is both a Cafe and a Reef this time LOL

Great to see, you can have our port connector truck gridlock instead of us as all that freights got to get there somehow... I see they are already saying they need to move the Auckland port but in the meantime lets tack on another 20 or 30 m on the end... have to laugh at that!

We need to be careful here too, already traffic is getting bad. They insist on creating great multilane roads that have roundabouts or lights on them

I was wandering idly through the ship geek forest the other day and stumbled across this beast:

Prelude FLNG is the world's first floating liquefied natural gas platform as well as the largest offshore facility ever constructed.

The Prelude is being built by the Technip / Samsung Consortium (TSC) in South Korea for a joint venture between Royal Dutch Shell, KOGAS, and Inpex.[3][4] It is 488 metres (1,601 ft) long, 74 metres (243 ft) wide, and made with more than 260,000 tonnes of steel.[5] At full load, it will displace more than 600,000 tonnes, more than five times the displacement of a Nimitz-class aircraft carrier.

Agreed.... any strategic thinker would have a 2 line railway with a freight connector yard well outside the town acting as a hub for drop off and break of bulk activities to increase productivity and decrease cost but we don't have a cohesive functioning transport industry that is looking at the big opportunities and problems too many factions and not enough cooperation.

Is Ruakura online or making any impact yet?

Yeah be a while before we get those. Lucky we don't take Iron ore, the big boys in that game draw 24 metres

I know I don't exactly cut an athletic figure any longer but comparing me to a container ship is just downright rude. I am more your harbour tug thank you.
