Yeah, the plastic is stuffed and just needs replacing. The deer needs plating.

I heard of possums crashing bikes. In one case a guy had one climb up his leg whilst at speed.gave him a hell of a fright. But that vid was pretty out there. He did well to keep the bike up and going.

    Very very Lucky.

That could have easily resulted in two fatalities.

Unexpected Animals on the road are a Motorcyclists worst nightmare

A while ago a mate hit an Alsatian on his GSX 400 accelerating thru 80kms while ride with a group of us.

We had just entered a 100kms zone heading out of town.

The dog had run out into the road to chase the bike that was in front of him.

His front wheel hit the dog square in the chest and got folded back under the engine.

He was catapulted over the handle bars and landed heavily on the road.

He broke a leg, his collar bone, a wrist and several ribs and spent quite some time in hospital and in recovery.

    The dog died instantly.

    The bike was written off.

The Dog owner blamed the bikes for being so noisy and going too fast.

Worst I've hit was a Puekeko at 100kms

Took me bloody ages to clean all of the feathers and guts off my Bike.

I ride the Napier to Wairoa road quite a bit the Goats grazing on the side of the road keep you alert that's for sure.

    Cheers
    Pete

My brother hit a cow while on his Kawasaki 900 and doing over 160kmh (outback Australia ) only reason he lived was the car following had several emergency nurses. Still spent over 6mths in hospital. I have a pic of the bike covered in green stomach contents from the cow

SH** that guy was lucky. Repeat that 9 more times and he would be dead or in hospital every one.
Dogs, much smaller than that deer have taken mates off bikes, even trail bikes. The Roos in oz are bloody lethal.
Yep it'd be out with the Mercator and off with the legs/back steaks for sure. Forget the plastic it's rooted, the meat on the other hand is quite edible.

Have run into heifer lucky washed a lot of speed off.
You still get hurt.Good gear looks after you but the bruising is incredible like all over you.
Hares jump up have had them bounce off knees.
Have smoked a couple of magpies at speed one off a boot and another hit my shoulder.
It hurts a bit.Armour gives a bit of padding but the foot/boot just a layer of leather.

A Harrier just glanced off my shoulder at over 160km/h,hurt for months.
Goose about the same speed, crushed two of the header pipes.
Bounced off a Water Buffalo in Thailand but more worried about the way the buff was going to take it,they've got serious hardware on their heads.
But it's the morons in tin tops that scare me the most.

The worst I have had is a starling to the shoulder at about 140.
    That was bad enough.

Had a sparrow hit my helmet with a glancing blow doing 2hundy plus on my Z1r when I was younger and much dumber.

It hurt that much I thought I had broken my neck.

Was one of the reasons I ditched the Sports bikes for the Fat Boys Couch......... no self control ....... especially when operating the right hand grip.

That guy was lucky there was no oncoming traffic.
I hit a hawk at about 140 on my CB900 many years ago and thought it was quite funny until I saw the indicator dangling in the wind and the big dent in my tank. I have a lot more respect for even small critters when it come to bikes and speed now.

Don't tell me you own a wheelbarrow now @P38. I think the Z1r would be a much safer choice. At least they go around corners.

    Hahahaha

Long gone is my thirst for speed and getting my knee down on the twisty bits.

I ride a Suzuki Boulevard these days .... and The Fat Boys Couch just suits me fine.
