    Bit of history uncovered

Been living in our district for most of my life and have trapped coons at powderface bend before and thought it was just a bush corner for doing the horizontal. The sign has been erected again as the last one got shot up by hooligans. Bloody neat as some elders in the community can put the history back up.

My grandad drew this block after WW1 as some of you will know and another bit of history has been dug out of a creek in our district that has been partially buried for over 100 years.

This is an old boiler from mill that was used all those years ago to help with the process of clearing the land.It must be cast iron otherwise it would of rusted?

Wrought iron doesn't rust the same as modern mild steel. It forms an oxide layer and the silicates affect the process blah blah. That's why old crosses in cemeteries don't rust away too. They will eventually of course, but it's waaaay slower than modern black mild steel. Often you will even begin to see the stratafication on the likes of old sea anchors etc

Good to see history being kept alive!!!

Did you dig that out of the creek Dundee,
    Hellva job if you did,
however I probably would have just continued to
    use the brick.

Nah , seriously, good bit of history.
