    Bit of rain.

Apparently we had 40-48mm in one hour today.
Been getting a few phone calls and messages asking if I need to use my webbed feet.

Town was a bit flooded due to the volume over time thing but the river and places that indicate a major flood here are a ways off any major events.

Greymouth got it way worse than us.
Supposed to keep raining for a few days yet so no telling what can happen but we are high and dry where I live.
Would be a 1000 yr flood to reach us.
Going to zip around with the drone as soon as I am able to get some footage.

Shot of the river is usually dry river bed for 300m to the left of the shot. So it is up a bit.

Kaniere-Kokatahi dip is the other. When it is bad you cannot proceed much past where the pic was taken.

Main street of Hoki around 5 pm. High tide has been and gone.
    Still raining heavy now.

Up till yesterday we had the best spell of weather I can remember for years.
    It's the coast. It rains.

Might keep the farmers on the wife's side of the family happy for a while.

I am still learning a lot about it but yeah awesome bit of kit.
Already spooked a deer off a clearing with it during the late afternoon.

Had it. 2.5 km away from me scouting a valley and was reasonably comfortable with it out of sight for a while.
I can't play back 4k footage on any of my gear so have to film in 1080p but it is plenty good enough for what I want to do with it.

So these Drones - can you say they are user freindly enough for the average person to use/fly ??
Was there any hidden quirks that you did not invisage ??
Batteries - up to what they state 20+ mins ??
Finally - does it really return to base with a press of button or when battery low alert kicks in ??

Yes to all your questions. But I am still learning.

I get around 25 mins per battery I have 3
Tge remote needs charging after around 3 flights anyway.

Return to home works and you can take off and land with a swipe of the finger.
    User friendly for sure.....so far

How much rainfall did you get last year? We topped 3000mm in Bergen,no one is really happy with that to be honest.

I would like to get a Drone,I think it would be fun to make some films of the terrain/fjords near my House.

We average 9m a year. Have had rain gauges near the farm my wife was on at 13m in recent years. Not sure how much we had this past year but it was nearly always raining when I got back from PNG on my breaks.

You miserable prick. What did monkeys ever do to you, to deserve an insult like that?

Stopped raining for the last half hour but blew up SW and quite strong so too windy for the drone.
