    Cactus vest?

Hi chaps, wondering who may offer comment on either the Cactus puffer vest or heavier canvas jacket/vest as an outdoor/work jacket. I know they differ but Iíd imagine the vest would be warm and the canvas jacket would be robust and hearty out and about.
Just that Iím as cold as frig.

@BRADS, if I recall you had some Sitka gear also, would you recommend any of the jackets? Mind, I donít like looking like Rambo while buying a cooked chicken in Pak n Save.

What about a puffer from Ďwear on earthí? Got one last week and itís awesome. He made it with a waterproof outer which is a tough three layer fabric.

Cactus jacket is excellent. They don’t warranty zips though. Got stung $80. Plus it took two weeks longer to repair than quoted. But the gear is solid.

They don't warranty zips cos they dont make zips! They use the best there is available - YKK, and sometimes, just sometimes us guys are a bit rough on our zips. $80 is cheap to replace a zip, and its a prick of a job, I know, I've replaced 100's of the bloody things.

WEAR ON EARTH make the cactus jackets for them. Fantastic product just doesn't pay to be in a hurry ordering one...

I have the down vest, boy has the canvas down jacket. Bulletproof.
    Both have removable hoods.

Do they pack down reasonably well?

Not super compact as it has the waterproof outer, in its stuff sack itís a bit smaller than a rugby ball I guess, could be compressed further. Itís seriously warm.
