Did you mean turn Wifi off on you phone - or the modem in your house

Phone easy - the symbol is like 3 rings over 90 degrees -

iPhone swipe up and click the blue ring button - it’s off for a day
Or under the gear cog settings app - wifi and hit the button so it’s grey instead of green

Or maybe this isn’t what you mean either

If you're talking about turning your modem off inside your home by using your phone, the answer is yes, you can.

We use this method regularly when our kids need some time away from their devices etc. The wife uses her phone to change the wifi settings... normally setting up operating times.

I just wish we could use the phone to change the wife settings in the same way. If you do manage that, please let us all know!

Stick this in the address bar for a test.192.168.2.1 if it accesses your modem then just use phone browser with wi-fi ,same numbers will take you to the router.

Been looking into a modem wifi unit that will allow full customisation for use without costing the earth. When I was in business, we set up with UniFi wifi routers as the best.

They also do a lower cost unit called an AmpliFi that you can control from an App on our iPhones. The thing I like about this so far is the ability to leave the wifi on all the time, but set times/limits for individual devices. Turn kids units off at 9pm etc. can’t use internet overnight, can’t exceed x hours per day etc.

We try to encourage a fairly good compromise, but impossible with laptops for school and phones etc for young teenagers.

I’ve only just started researching this but yet to find a techie who can assure me that’s indeed what I want or need. Looks like PB Technologies in akl sell them but I’m also in Las Vegas for the week so might look a tad them over here too.

I’ve also got a new courtyard that’s nearing completion and the existing wifi barely reaches there, so I’m wanting a booster unit and AmpliFi seems to cover that base too.

    Cheers, John

You can also control your wifi hours with one of these - but you'd have to change do as I say to do as I do.
