    Cantab Roots

Iím back in Canterbury now team, and I have absolutely no idea where to start sniffing.

Would love a catch up with active hunters over a beer. Not after Spot X just general local info to start to narrow down my weekend adventures.

    Cheers and hello again

Ps would love goat and hare areas just as much as deer. I went for a 10km hike around Bottle Lake Forest last night and wish I had a sneaky .22 pistol! Bunny and hare central!! (Just kidding about the pistol, Mr FBI man.)

Well I was meant to be away hunting tomorrow but Gita has put paid to that so I'm heading up to Northland to go fishing.

Puketeraki and Mt Thomas have always been reasonably productive, and handy to Ch-Ch. I used to spend a lot of time in Cragieburn and the Harper-Avoca area with excellent results but don't know how the area is these days. North Canterbury (behind Hawarden, up the Inland Road, etc) is good pig territory (and the odd deer and chamois) and open country so you don't need dogs. It is mostly private land so you would need to go and ask a few owners.

Rock on up to a few selected high country stations @Dougie they might find it hard to say no to "a good keen girl" Often making an appearance rather than phone can produce the results. Good luck.
