Some but not much. Looks white from Christchurch but thats not a great indicator. Also depends on what you're calling high country. Look at webcams on Cam Used to be able to jump directly to one you wanted. e patient and you'll see Mt Tripp, Lake Camp (view to Mt Harper), Lake Heron, Clearwater then to Mt Cheeseman etc. This link gets you to a couple direct https://www.windfinder.com/webcams/lake_clearwater

Had a bit of time this morning so had a better look and found the above. If you know of a town that is closer to your extended hunting spot but that in the search engine.
These guys have a fantastic weather site. But then they have fishing boats all over the world which count on it so not surprised really.
Looks like Stewart Island is in for some rain coming up from down south.
The weather looks to clear by Thursday looking at their map.

Full of charming news.... Wind picked up for a while this afternoon. Definately a bit more chill to the air the last few nights / mornings

That's Mt Dobson and Two Thumb from my lounge right now. Snow is melting fast and likely to be 90% gone by the weekend, bar a few shady faces maybe. Snowline looks to be around 17-1800m

Snow would have likely been heavier towards the main divide, however they will have had more exposure to nor-west winds afterwards, to melt it a bit quicker too..
