just get your one repacked. that way you will know you have decent cells fitted. try these guys: Battery Masta | BatteryMasta

I used these guys to repack the battery from an older industrial grade bat drill that I wanted to continue to use. Not quite the same as your Paslode example but I could have replaced the drill with a cheapy for about the same cost. However very happy with the repack. They even upgraded the rating a bit over the original battery. Simpower only use top quality cells which I would doubt to be the case with the Chinese ones but like you say you could buy several Chinese batteries over the years and still be ahead.

Don't drop them, I have one and it fell out and dropped from around 1200. The top fell off it. I've araldited it on again and seems to work and they are way cheaper.

Yep I've used them. Had to replace them as mate who is a builder reckoned they lasted longer than factory batteries so grabbed the first lot. Think I paid about $30 each for them

Yep they are cheap but the clip that holds them in the gun is weak and they tend to fall out usually when overhead nailing and they always break open when they hit the floor. As otters have said keep the Paslode ones and get them repacked.
