Down for the weekend with the Bride, Son and his Fiancée for a wedding. Where to eat and what sights to see.

Dimitris Souvalaki in Riccaton worth a try....

Shooters supplies in Hornby would be worth a browse if shopping is on the ticket...

There is Willowbank and Orana Park if wildlife is your thing, and a mountain bike park on the Port hills if adrenaline is more to your taste.

There are quite a few walks on the hills (Rapaki track, Bridle path etc) a proper network of how to get there by foot. (Bridle goes up and over to lyttleton, Rapaki goes to the top but is a less steep incline, and both link with the summit road.)

What sort of thing are you into?

    Eating (google them)

    Dinner

    • 5th street
    • Bessie
    • King of Snake

    Brekie/Brunch

    • Hello Sunday
    • Peddle Pusher

    Things to do:

Go hunt some Tahr or whitebaiting. Seriously a walk around Botanic gardens may earn some brownie points. Although where you live it will probably be a bit of an anti-climax!
Take the gondala if it’s a fine day.

hello sunday? if you want to be surrounded by hipster types.
if you have the $$ for steak then "bloody mary's" at the latimer. there are a few all you can eat brazillian bbq places that are ok. seafood is a tricky one. pescatore is good but unbelievable expensive.
what are you doing for transport when here ?

If wet Canterbury Museum or the Air Force Museum at Wigram.

A drive to and over the Port Hills, ferry to Diamond Harbour.

Wineries - lots to choose from.
