    Clusterfcuk

Just driven past Auckland Showgrounds, 100’s of campervans streaming in from the airport and being set up in the car park.
There’s an article on the web that the Government supplier of medical gowns is going to run out in a week or two and is unable to source from there suppliers in CHINA. Placed all the eggs in one basket over the years.

What would it take to crank up a local manufacturer using the good old No 8 wire scenario.

Now if we had kept single use plastic bags then we could maybe fashion up a gown. On that note, have you noticed just how much the save the planet brigade have taken a back seat and remained quiet lately?

@Rushy yup, mind you the massive world shutdown is having an effect on pollution etc.
When that volcano went up in Iceland a few years back it was apparently very noticeable the flights or lack thereof were having on the atmosphere.
I would think that is now on a global scale. Plus reports that some of the more polluted (smog) cities in the world are showing massive improvements.
Realistically only short lived but the effects are still noticeable.

I would imagine that if a factory cranked up locally you wouldn’t need to pass all the Health and safety, cleanliness bullshit. So what if the gown wasn’t 100% clean, it’s only worn to protect the medical staff from Covid.

We could make them out of wool, clean and disinfect before reuse, a whole cottage industry could start and it would be green as, shit Greta would be happy.
She might be a NZ Dunkirk type scenario.

China new about this in January, made us keep the borders open. Now they have shut theirs and made noises about cutting off medical supplies.

I believe they have also been shipping out dud testing kits.

We need to make all this stuff locally.

Straight out of the art of war, as is taking advantage of an accident. We will see if China can actually get rid of the virus and if the Chinese people have not had a guts full of the bullshit yet.

I think they quite enjoyed being part of the international system.
