    Cold snap

Snowing here in CHCH now. Kids will be excited in the morning if it hangs around.

Hopefully the farmers are coping with sheltering all the newbies

How come Canterbury and Otago farmers are always well into lambing now when we almost always get a last blast of winter.
Up round the lakes district they dont lamb that early cos they know they could easily get a foot of snow tomorrow.
Is it just greed trying to meat(pun intended) the Christmas export

Light dusting on thre Ruahines this morning, I have today scheduled off to take my 9yr old daughter on her first hunt. Been a long time coming so hopefully that wind stays down and the sun stays out to get the animals a bit more active and increase my chances of her seeing anything.

Of course, nailing my first DOC deer wouldn't go astray either
