    Customs fees / GST

I'm looking at imported a new camera from Aussie, its just under $800 NZD - $791 NZD to be exact (including shipping).

What I would like to know, if it gets stopped by customs, is it just GST that I have to pay (15%) or are there other fees that apply?

Thought some of you might know.

    Cheers,

    Raging Bull

Customs charges should total about $160 - $162 all up.

I've had an offer from a generous forum member, that said he would be willing to bring it back with him. Hopefully we'll be able to sort something out.

    Cheers.

What is the deal with duties and get bringing items back in luggage or sending it back from overseas....
If I was to send a scope back to dad for Xmas and a pair of binos for mum and another scope for my little brother all in one box what would I be looking at?

And if I brought back similar sort of stuff in my luggage how much could I bring?

Having a prick of a time with Paypal, anyone had this error before?

This transaction cannot be processed. The shipping country is not allowed by the buyer's country of residence. (Code: 10474).

Apparently its because the shipping address and the billing address is different, Shipping = Australia / Billing = New Zealand.
