That has to be one of the worst and most biased articles I have ever read, it doesn't stand up to the most basic reasoning and evidence.

If you actually believe that article and the sentiment you really need to look at yourself and how you process evidence.

“If someone doesn't value evidence, what evidence are you going to provide to prove that they should value it? If someone doesn’t value logic, what logical argument could you provide to show the importance of logic?” Sam Harris

It's actually quite accurate in most parts. Things that don't gel:

    1. The whole basis for their idea is wrong and they refuse to acknowledge that when it is pointed out. Historic records clearly show that CO2 levels FOLLOW temperature levels, with a fairly large lag. Al Gore deliberately switched the labels of the graphs when he published the graphs in his book "The Inconvenient Truth".

    2. A big deal was made with a model of the climate to reasonably mimmic temperature changes over a certain period, and beyond that period there was divergence from the model. This area of divergence was seized as showing a rising temperatures and to attempt to match this annomoly they took selected temperatures from large growing cities that do have a localised warming effect. When more stable rural figures are considered the temperature actually dropped.

    3. Now taking the true relationship between CO2 levels and temperature into account, that since rising temperatures produce a raise in CO2 levels, then rising CO2 levels cannot also be responsible for raising temperatures. Such a scenario would put the planet into thermal runaway, which the historical data of cold and warm periods shows is not the case.

    4. There is talk of rising sea levels, and this has apparently be measured at 0.5mm over the last century. A number much lower than the resolution of the earlier data. This rise is somehow meant to be linked to islands being swallowed by the oceans at present! Investigation actually shows that these are actually coral atolls that are naturally decaying as they have always done over time.

    5. The earth's climate has always been changing. The changes they are looking at fall well within the natural cycles of the earth's climate. They are not so much looking for a 'needle in a haystack' but rather a 'certain coloured stem of hay in the haystack' which will naturally be in there.

    6. We do, for some odd reason, have industries and education systems that are being built up on these flawed ideals based on flawed science and data. For self preservation purposes they do ignore any attempts to correct this flawed basis for their existence. This is much like cats being blamed for the bubonic plague and being killed, which ironically would have been a help to lower the disease carrying rat population.

Yeah this is a bit political. Let's not turn this forum into another political echo-chamber. No. Politics. Unrelated. To. Firearm. Legislation. Please.
