    Poor fellow... Nice rack though. Not surprised they tried to jump over them, have seen bucks (not stags) clear deer fences

    Yep, as a kid the neighbours had a deer farm. The Reds would get out when a tree went over the fence. The fallow just jumped it at times.

    Grew up on a deer farm with our herd at the start being live capture deer, most settled reasonably well but some never would.
    We had one old biarch of a hind that was just mad, one rear leg amputated by the vet when broken because in those days they were worth dollars and that ol bugger would clear the full deer fence without touching it probably 1 in 3 times of getting them in the sheds which in the beginning was at least 3 times a week to get them used to it.
    The mad bitch would have been culled but she had twins every year even with only 3 wheels....gave me my first broken nose too the maggot.

    Interesting all right. Sounds like some of them are hard work in the yards. I used to think it was cool seeing the neighbours deer on our place. Not sure he did haha

    The ones we had growing up would jump whilst going down the race to the sheds, some would get there head caught in the top few rows of wire and break necks bloody stupid things

    Have heard stories of this happening in Woodhill forest as well when people mountain biking thru it.
