"Deer Wars" doco on Maori tv tonight at 8.30pm

In case you didn't know. Looks worth a watch.
“For us hunting wasn’t a sport. It was a way to be intimate with nature, that intimacy providing us with wild unprocessed food free from pesticides and hormones and with the bonus of having been produced without the addition of great quantities of fossil fuel. . . . . . . . We lived close to the animals we ate. We knew their habits and that knowledge deepened our thanks to them and the land that made them.”

There has certainly been a lot of highs and lows "revolving" around our beloved red skins.

Never saw it last night but think I have before. Is that the one where they are using a net gun from a chopper and then jumping down and bull dogging big stags?
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!

This doco was about the venison recovery days. They had a brief one or two minutes about the live capture that followed, in which they showed the use of the netting gun on a young animal, but no stags from my memory.

Especially when you were a star of the show!!!! It is on youtube for anyone that missed it. Our wee greyghost still looks the same as well but I doubt he could be as nimble as he once was, getting in and out of the machine.
Do what ya want! Ya will anyway.
