    Devistated

After a painful last few months and things really ramping up this last fortnight, I finally have gone to the doctor.

Pending bloods, she strongly suspects I have Rheumatoid Arthritis.

    I am 27 years old.

you young and strong girl...... plenty of hills for you still to climb. get listening to what the doc's say and get fighting as soon as you know what you up against..... you can beat it or at least keep on top and live with it.

    Hang on in there Dougie.

If there's something we've learned well here, you've got mates, and folks here are with you.

It just becomes the new normal. Much like my foot, we just have to change they way we do things to fit what we can do.
And we certainly don't let a little pain or discomfort get in the way of what we love to do.

That doesn't sound too flash Dougie. At half my age you should still be in mint condition like me. Hoping the news is good young lady.

Thanks team. I will keep you posted after bloods and.... poo samples. Apparently some types of Arthritis attack the bowel too (as well as joints) so need to get that checked out as well as have some lady stick her finger up my butt by the sounds.

I said to her, "that sounds terrible for both of us" and she laughed. Hopefully we don't have to do that

Sorry to hear, and we all hope your doc isn't right. But...it's not a death sentence either Gwen. My uncle has lived with arthritis since about 25yo (now in his early 60s) and just had to learn to manage (rather than suffer) it. Only in the last five or so years has it really held him back from the things he loved doing. Chin up, read up to learn about managing it, and get out as much as possible to enjoy the physical stuff you love while you're young

I guess it's the shock right now that is quite upsetting. I'm pretty sick of the pain, especially in my fingers, I never thought it might be there forever.

No swelling or deformation at the moment which is a good sign though.

If she is anything like my doctor she will be absolutely fucking useless!

Ive had pain in my joints from around 25y old and has been to a certain extent debilitating from 35y old on depending on the type of work I am doing...it is in my case not rheumatoid arthritis but that isn't much help to me.

All the best for a accurate diagnosis and a cure/recovery.
