    forum
    ˈfɔːrəm/
    noun. a meeting or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged.

    Given the meaning of a forum I think its a perfectly reasonable topic for discussion.

    Yeah, on re-reading what you said Sidney I get it. Yes, I am making an assumption. That's why I said "This appears..."

    Firstly you are assuming that he expects others to validate his own opinion... and you don't actually know what that is...

    By implication you are assuming that his own opinion is without merit.. and the subject is either rubbish, or the way the question is proposed is rubbish....

    Plenty of assumptions... all round...

    Probably better to have said that the whole thing is unlikely to be a productive exercise... because the ability to form objective opinion from the subjective expression of this small sample is not useful... ?

    Sure.

    You have nothing to contribute to this thread except slinging mud and making assumptions instead of discussing the topic at hand. Why don't you just jog on?

    It's hidden because you haven't explained why you're asking the questions in the poll, or given much context at all...
    I have a right to ask questions don't I?

    Ha. That wasn't escalation. You should see what I deal with in the real world on a daily basis.

    Sure you've every right to ask and if you consult post 10 of the thread, you'll see why - not that I'm obligated to give a reason.

    Are you asked to justify every thread you create? No. In case you've not been paying attention to the news lately, the police association and the police (mostly the former) haven't exactly been playing open hands with the public as far as firearms are concerned.

    You are looking for skeletons that don't exist.

    There's nothing political or divisive about the poll. Nobody is attacking the police. It's perfectly legitimate to query the level of trust in an organisation that is both extremely powerful and one that projects itself as virtuous - we do live in a democratic society after all, don't we?

    @berg243,

    Maybe the criminals are confidential informants and he was protecting them. Spread that idea in your neighbourhood if you agree.
