    Dundee or Brads

Arrived last night in your island, and was trying to work out why most farms have what looks like a 9 or 10 wire fence, with batons every metre or so. Is it a requirement or do you fellas like doing lots of stapling. Surely netting with a Hotwire along top, or even just a couple of hot wires would be much cheaper to erect.
Or is it to keep rabbits and hares on the right side of fence. To a south islander, it just seems a hell of an overkill and expensive way of fencing

You South Islanders must have power to spare to run a hot wire everywhere. 8 wire with battens was always standard boundary fence when I was a kid. Battens elsewhere was dependent on what you were running and how toey the stock was

Probably a case of 4 sheep to the acre not 4 acres to the sheep like you are use to. Got to keep the buggers in.

I did wonder if that was the case, but didn't want to say it to soon. Still got a few days up here, and would like to make it back home with my virginity intact

No good in my area. Bloody cows have taken over, and what's not dairy is still being cropped. No good sending them down further south, cause I hear they got 6 fingers down there
