Ahhh but @EeeBees my son told me about this procedure when I showed him my hand. When I told my doc where my info came from, he replied "these young bloody doctors know every thing". My docs about my age, he's an awesome doc, always happy to learn hhahahaha

I'm very pleased to hear there might be a treatment available and I sure hope it works for you Maca, because the alternative isn't that attractive. I have a friend with the problem and at the tender young age of mid-40's has already had two fingers amputated and is facing more in future. I can't imagine how debilitating that is.

Good luck with getting it sorted.

Re amputation: I tend to drop things like a screwdriver or shower bottle as the missing finger is (was) surprisingly ‘grippy’. I have lots of fun at traffic lights when I pretend to be sticking my (missing) little finger up my nose.

Your little finger is your strongest I think. So that'll be why you drop things.

We have dupuytrens in the family, old man has it bad. It does tie back to viking bloodlines supposedly.

Mum has carpal tunnel in both hands and has had to have them both operated on.

First update, have completed my first round of treatment. Started with an appointment with the doctor where she explained the procedure checked my hands and identified where I needed the radiation treatment. Then onto to the scanner bed for approx 45 mins, on my back with both hands over my head, while a polystyrene ball bag was vacuumed out, leaving a mould of my hands. Measurements were taken of the area on each hand of the area to be treated.
Two weeks later and this week I have had two 10 min appointments, everyday, for each hand to be radiated, a painless procedure, it takes a few minutes to position your hand each day in the mould, which is stored and used on each appointment.
Have had no ill affects and have worked each day.
Couple of photos show you my hands after this week. Now 6 weeks of no treatment, then another week like this week and done.
Takes time for the break down of the thicken around the sheath.

Well finished my treatment on Friday after a week of 10 min appointments to have both hand radiated. I had a six week break between treatments to allow the hands to settle down after the first week of radiation. No side affects, I built a retaining wall while having treatment, but had to wear gloves for comfort, you have no pain, but know somethings happened, took about 2 weeks to calm down.
Seems the treatment is not well known, so be persistent with your Doc, all else fails PM me and I’ll get a contact. If it works it’s worth it!
Just a follow up with the oncologist in 6 weeks! Now a bone marrow biopsy for another prob. Growing old is fcuking fantastic!!!!
