    Fiber broadband and phone

Not being tech minded just thought I'd ask advice from those that are regarding the benefits or pitfalls of going to the unlimited cable broadband and phone with Spark
Am currently with Spark and the fibre won't cost any xtra I'm told.
However they did say that I would never be ale to use another provide for toll calls as these would always go through Spark [that's if I picked that up right]
currently on 80gig adsl wifi or whatever its called,
I do watch movie and live stream sport.
    Thanks.

Are you building or will they add to existing, if your building absolutely insist they also provide a copper connection auxillary to the fibre. If you already have copper there would be nothing stopping you using the fibre just for the net and going to another provider on the copper lines.

If going with spark you need a connection to the copper network at this point because they don't offer VoIP over fiber. When they install the fiber, they will run the internal fiber next to an existing jack point that is hopefully tied into the rest of the house wiring. When they say you will never be able to make a toll cal through anybody else, it is bullshit, you just won't be able to do it while you are getting your phone line through the copper with Spark.

So is the fibre a better option, guess it must be they've spent millions doing it.

Get Fiber. Future proof your property. One day copper will be gone and fiber installs won't be free.

Asked my provider if I could get fibre at work, all run in the street, they said 2017! They haven't paid the dosh for access to provide in our street, what crap, I'll have to stay under contract with my current provider and get my fibre network off another provider, same at home

When the install is done for anyone other than Spark, the copper network is meant to be cut away from you, as it can drag down your VoIP service.

VoIP would stop the copper line charge? Voip can be a bit hit and miss with quality, like sitting in the shitter with the echo!

Well yea. VoIP doesn't work very well with faxes which is why some businesses etc keep a copper line.
