    Firewood help

    How's it going I've just started trying to sell a bit of firewood and had a bit of interest. My question is and forgive me if it sounds stupid. But how can I easily measure a meter of fire wood quickly ? As some people want a meter some want 4
    Just after cheap or quick and easy way to measure it also couple guys are keen on rings by the meter how would I measure that thanks in advance silly question I know

    Measure the width height length of your trailer and work it out, charge by the trailer load is the easiest way

    And it's sold by the "thrown " metre, not stacked. You can make the wood go twice as far by not stacking it in the trailer

    Usually wood is sold by the metre and it's a thrown metre and not stacked. I was selling firewood as a fundraiser for Scouts last year. My trailer was just under a cubic metre sold I charged for a metres worth but wood was stacked. I like to think no one missed out..

    Okay awesome was thinking of getting a few of the metal cages off old tote tanks since they are a meter by meter etc

    if a big enough trailer divide it with gates at 1m divisions then you can deliver a full load and still do metre lots if needed.

    This. Stacking makes a huge difference. Always wondered what the ratio was but 2:1 wouldn't surprise me

    That ratio would be about right.

    I was going to make my trailer cage 1 cord (3.6 m3) but changed it to 3m3 so it wasn't quite so high.

    $50 for wet pine (green) for next winter as had a bit of interest there and $75 dry but had someone pick up a heaps so bugger all dry left got up 10 meters of Marco drying at the moment for sale next year
