    First bite

I have long known that you can eat certain parts of a deer straight away without the need of aging the cuts, but just today heard you can bite the tip of the heart off and eat it raw, as its meant to be very soft and palatable.

    Anyone else heard this ?

    Truth or fibs?

I have a sneaking suspicion my mates are trying to get me to try it, so they can collapse to the ground laughing their silly heads off -at my expense!

Hasn't scribe written something about this? Or have I seen it somewhere else? I believe it's a bit of a lefthand screwdriver kinda thing. Dave can tell you all about them

Apparently (according to hue fernly whitingstall) all offal is good to go from the moment of death,I dont eat it myself prefer steak
Mum and Dad love venison liver so if I get a handy one I always save it for them. Mum soaks it in a brine for a couple of days in the fridge, still tastes like liver to me. I dont hate it but I dont love it either.
I found heart tastes like liver but I haven't tried it raw and twitching.

Haven't eaten heart raw, but did butcher a sheep once and have the heart in the pan so quickly it was still twitching! Tasted great.

I just love a feed of fresh venison liver with bacon...let it settle in the belly for a while and then off to a mates house for a dump...splatter the porcelain and don't flush, then do a runner.
