    Flockhouse,Bulls,1976

Just wondering if anyone here on this site attended Flockhouse.Ive lost contact with just about all the 60 jokers that went the year I attended. There wasn't one part of the country that wasn't represented, even on bloke from the Chathams,(pitt island).Thoroughly enjoyed the year we spent there, and The shenanigans that went on were priceless. Some of the best blokes I've ever had the pleasure of meeting.

I grew up a few km down the road, and went to the little county school parwanui, great facility was flock house. Meet plenty of the guys who attended. Caught gold fish and eels in the ponds, and had many a day swimming at the pool,
If you don't have any luck, one of the kids I went to school with, dad worked there, they have got a farm, just out of Sanson, I can likely track him down when back.
Should ever have been closed down, very short sighted.

    @A330driver

Tell us how you started out as a Sheep Shagger but ended up flying A330's

I'm sure it's an interesting story

    Cheers

Did you come across Donald Jackson? Pretty sure he was about that year. Old primary school buddy.

JJ Stewart the All Black coach was a principal there. Maybe the last one. He coached the Bulls seniors while I was playing.

Yeah he was mate, and a fine coach he was. When the 76 All blacks went to SA,they "hid"at flockhouse, they used the 1st 15 ,which I was in,as dummy runners in their practices, had a bloody good time....I have one of those jerseys.Very controversial times they were.Do you remember Bob barrell,or Gordon Shannon,Bob played for Wanganui, should have been an AB,bloody good fullback with a huge boot. They coached us when JJ couldn't make practice.....some of us filled in for the Bulls seniors, when they were short......if you played in 76 then we may have crossed paths

Jj said I was the worst president of the students assoc they had ever had.Said I was a bad influence.....we used to steal a tractor on Friday/sat nights, drive it into bulls, park(hide it)behind the bank on the corner, proceed to the rat-hole,and get shit-faced....drive it back to FH pissed as chooks.....come a cropper one night when we took out chris amones fence one night..BUGGAR!!!!.....such good times

Was on a Land Settlement Courses early 80s
Bob Barrell was coaching the 1st 15.
Had us guys run against them for practice.
Few of us were still playing senior footie and the odd one of us rep footie.
Worked up a sweat before replacing with the cheap beer in the bar.
Bar used to close for dinner so we would stack up jugs.
Have a quick feed and get back into it.
Had enough to keep us going until the bar opened again.
