    Fuel cards

We currently use CardSmart for our fuel card. Can be used at Caltex, Mobil, Z, BP etc
Last week the company owner accidentally deleted a number of payment authorizations by remote access and could not do again till next morning when office lady recovered them all.

As a result of been 1 day late we have been hit with a $300 fee for late payment

What other fuel card providers are out there

I use FNF fuel card and get over $0.30 per ltr off retail price on diesel.

This is a farmlands truck stop on top, and local Challenge station below a couple of weeks back. Eftpos, visa also accepted. On farmlands card you also get another 12c rebate and up to 60 days to pay.

First, never ask the person who answers the phone, always go one or two people above their heads. The first line of defence for most companies is one that does not have any authority to allow leniency in the hope that you give up when they say "no".

Secondly, my suggestion is take a look at the account and how much you spend in a month. Then suggest that if they do not reverse the fee that you will happily cancel all of the cards and take your business to another petrol company. There are other options out there regardless of who you are with. Whether they are as good or as convenient as your current one is up to you.

When you go for the next discussion with the next vender, start off by asking for platts barrel price plus %, instead of pump minus a percentage. It will get you to the right person to talk to. However you will need to use a bit of fuel though.....
