Anyone have any advice on taking your girlfriend shooting a apart from starting on a 22. She said that she would go once to a range to she if she liked it but isn't interested in shooting animals.

Reactive targets are much more fun than holes in paper.

That is balloons/knockdown plates/water bottles etc

Is it bad etiquette to bring water bottles and balloons to a rifle range? This sounds like a good idea though.

I dont know...that would depend on the range tho if allowed it would be pretty standard to expect you take your used targets(rubbish) out with you.

My missus is quite the dab hand at steel plate shooting although she is not really interested in shooting at all as had a couple cracks at my "local"

Although yesterday when I was there i spent some time with the owner removing "random shit" that had been shot at and left, deodorant containers bottles etc
Also found a bullet riddled stainless bucket and some other shit left behind. Why don't people clean up after themselves ???

Make sure the rifle you give her/him is accurate and sighted in. Do everything you can to make sure they get hits on target but make it easy

Of course. Don't want to be the person abusing facilities.

I've never sighted a rife in before. Or even shot one before. I have a couple of mates who said that they'd show me how to do it.

Took my wife pistol shooting, threw a tin can out on the range and gave her my .357, first and last time! She kept drill holes through it! I hate competition! Still reminds me even today!!
