    It was a good vid.
I wonder if the gate hadn't come open and the cockie lost money as a consequence if he would be so concerned. Or if he wasn't planning on a tourist operation. $$$$$$$$

This is Russian Roulette and we have already loaded the gun, pointed it at our head and pulled the trigger. The bullet is travelling down the barrel and it will come out at some stage and cause a great deal of damage. My message to DoC and all previous and successive supporting governments is "do not be surprised when it happens" and prepare now for our clean green image as a country to be irreparably damaged and our nation to be vilified in the eyes of the international community. Take moment to consider the future of a New Zealand that cannot export dairy or meat products anywhere.

    Correct.
But don't forget that 1080 has also played a major part in the fight to "break the back" of TB in NZ (I'm not saying it is the perfect solution).
So take a moment to consider that if TB was to continue to increase as it was in the 70s and 80s NZ would not be exporting dairy or meat products anyway.

Better be careful guys because one of those boys has never had so much as a speeding ticket.

As far as the fable threat to NZ exports of bovine TB is concerned; do you realise that any carcasses identified with Tb at the works have it cut out and then that meat goes to your local butcher for NZ consumers?

Also, if you Google the title "Coughing up for Tb" by NZ Institute of Economic Research you will find that the report done by that Institute for Treasury as far back as 2000, made it clear that all the countries NZ exports meat to had Tb themselves and that the TB threat to NZ exports was (and still is) virtually non existent.

I think they do a great job, regardless of any past shenanigans. Anyway, it was a bank robbery in Australia, so it doesn't count. They were all probably just trying to fit in over there....

They have been fighting the 1080 battle for longer than most, and are hard at it. I happily support them.

My local stomping ground was 1080 dropped last week, with the rest of it being done next year.
All the area is easily accessible by foot, trappers could do it, but dont because lack of possums.
I spent hours in there over the roar after dark hearing and seeing fuck all possum sign. I night shoot the surrounding farmland and might average 5 or so possums a year. Its been 9 years since the last drop and the birdlife has only really recovered in the last 2 years.
The drop site is a water catchment for a small town and the pumps to the resivour hav been in turned off after the drop, why would they do this if they say its safe to use.
The use of this is going to bite us in the arse at some stage.
